Old El Paso CAT
Right now Shaws/Supervalu is running an Old El Paso Catalina. It started 1/25/2010 and will end 2/21/2010 if the CAT announcements are right.
The deal is Save up to $3 on a future purchase of Beef or Chicken.
Purchase any Old el Paso taco shells, dinner kits, seasoning, refried beans or heat and serve side dishes between 1/25 & 2/21
Save $1 on your next beef or chicken purchase when you buy 3
Save $3 when you buy 6
Taco Shells
Taco Seasoning
Heat & Serve Sides
Refried Beans
Dinner Kits
Coupons out there include .50/1 or $1/1 sides, which are on sale for $1. As well as free seasoning wyb two items, free beans wyb two items, and $1 on beans wyb two items that are peelies from other OEP items.
Which means you can buy four sides and two beans or seasoning for nothing and get $3 to use on beef or chicken. Other combinations will have more out of pocket, but if you eat OEP like we do in this house, its still not a bad deal. Word on the street is the sides are backordered in the warehouses already so start getting your rainchecks and asking them to order more when possible. You’ve got plenty of time to get in on this one.

Facelift
The holidays are over and so is my excuse for not getting this place in order. So I am working on a new theme, as well as buttons, blinkies, and other linkable content. Also going in will be some affiliate marketing and perhaps Google content. Not quite sure what I want to add in, and it will in part depend on the template I end up with. Too much stuff in too few columns looks tacky. But everything should be straightened out soon. I hope.

The Winter Blahs
So my husband got a cold, then shared it with me. Between the office mis-ordering and the company mis-delivering while I was sick its been a rather flustered couple weeks around here. To top it off I think I may have fractured my ribs coughing. Woke up yesterday morning with a huge pain in my side right at the bottom of my right rib. Hurts when I sneeze, cough or laugh. Or get jiggled over the plethora of frost heaves…ugh.
I will be working on compiling some great stuff and getting my tushie back in gear. I’ve slacked off for too long and if I am going to get that second vehicle I’ve got to start working on ways to make up the car payment of $100-150 a month. Without depending on my hours increasing in spring.
Also look for my seed ideas. I’m doing a container garden this spring if it kills me. So I’ve been busy looking through the e-mails I get from Burpee, Johnny’s and other vendors for what I might want to grow. I also spent a lovely bit of time talking to the Burpee vendor for the Home Depot while he set up his displays. I can’t wait.

Year End Rebate Madness Wrap Up
So last night I spent a couple hours going through my stack of receipts from the end of the year (September to December roughly) to match to rebates I need to get filled out, copied/scanned and mailed out. It took ages to sort them. First I pulled the ones that had items I needed for rebates. Then I sorted them by the rebate so I made sure I had all of them covered.
The good news is I only didn’t buy a couple rebates worth of stuff (firelogs and a produce item more than $3). Which means I have around $100 more in rebates to send out for, which will bring my yearly total to around $400. Not too bad for missing a bunch of them and not buying every rebate since we don’t really need some stuff.
I told Tim (my husband) he can keep any I send in his name to buy a light saber part. So he will be happy when checks start coming in as well.
Let this be a lesson if you think rebates are just as negligible as coupons. Most of the rebates I have now are for meat, produce, cheese and holiday decorations (lights, bows, cards). Which are things we don’t always have coupons for which are now paying for themselves. Not a bad deal when you think about it.

WP and Scheduled Post Issues
So I was trying to be all smart and write a bunch of posts when I had time and the muse, and schedule them with the new(er) feature WP has. Unfortunately its often glitchy and only one of them went through. Might have to save them as drafts instead until they figure this one out. The easy fixes I found didn’t work.
