I have Googled my fingers raw but I am pretty sure this hasn’t been reported anywhere else yet….although I saw some posts about Hannaford carrying the single size Oakhurst Eggnog.

Walmart has the single serve 16oz pint Oakhurst Eggnog in regular or light for $1.12 each. Some areas received a $2 off any two Oakhurst Eggnog (this is two words on their coupon and products), Cream or Whipped Cream Products exp 01/07/2012 in the 12/04/2011 Smartsource insert. This makes the eggnog .12 per pint, .24 per quart, or .96 a gallon. Shelf price for a half gallon carton is normally in the $3-4 range, so you can see the savings is pretty drastic. Plus you can portion it out, when the bottle is empty its empty.

Prices will vary by town and region as milk prices and laws do as well. I had to price check my eggnog, as there was no price marked on it in the open cooler the egg nog is in where I picked it up. But you can be assured its going to be the cheapest option until it goes on sale after Christmas, if it even does.

The HAPPYBABY Food for Thought newsletter came for July 2011. It includes information about the new products HAPPYMORNING™ and HAPPYSQUEEZE™, which are meant to be more for adults, as a protein rich smoothie on the go with ingredients “meant to appeal to an older palate” as opposed to a toddler who wants everything to taste like apples. With ingredients such as yumberry and mangosteen they definitely hit on the “hot” food trends I’ve seen running around.

Some of you were able to score some freebie HAPPYBABY items with the leaked free coupon. They caught on quickly and have used a coupon printing software this time. It runs on Java, so if you have issues with Smartsource coupons this Alice may be an issue for you as well. But give it a go and you may be rewarded with a $1 coupon of any four HAPPYMORNING™ or HAPPYSQUEEZE™ products.

Look for these in the baby section, despite the adult ideas. I know I saw them at Target just yesterday. I remember because I thought the flavors were a bit fancy for a toddler.

While leisurely strolling through the local Shaws Thursday evening (while trying to dry out enough to stop squishing in my sneakers) I went down the OTC med aisle. There in front of the bandaids was a blinkie machine with $1 off any J&J First Aid item (signified by the red cross). There have been several reincarnations of this coupon both in the Sunday inserts and blinkie machines. So long as the denomination works out to at least $1 off one it nets free stuff, overage, etc.

My favorite is the mini first aid kits. They come in a little white plastic box and have a couple items. Not much but a nice thing to toss in a backpack, purse or glovebox. They retail for under a dollar at Walmart and Target. So free first aid kit.

They will also gain you cheap or free gauze, first aid tape in several types and assorted other items depending on where you use them and the sales.

In the past people have used these on non red cross/first aid products. Some people were told this was ok, but the indication is clear from the variety of items pictured that baby wash is not the intended item for discount. There are plenty of coupons for those items without being greedy and pushing the envelope.

So head out and look for these. They don’t expire til 5/31/2010 s you’ve got plenty of time to use them.

You may have started to see and hear the hype behind stevia based sweeteners. You may already be drinking them in such products as Sobe Lifewater Zero Calorie drinks.

A name brand is Purevia, and it comes in 40 and 50 count packs. The 40 count is $2 at Market Baskets (located New England) and there is a coupon out in the 1/3/2010 Smartsource for $2 on any Purevia product.

I’ve been using stevia since I was a kid in the 80′s, when all we had was the dried herb. Extracts, powders and hybrids are relatively new to the market but much more convenient. Its sweeter than even artificial sweeteners and can be used by diabetics. And its kosher and gluten-free. Pick up a couple to try or donate to a food pantry or senior center.

go to www.purevia.com for a full FAQ
