FREE Nivea Body Wash

By mainely  //  Inserts  //  1 Comment

Last week’s paper had a $4 Nivea women’s body wash coupon in it. It was in the Red Plum insert. If you got the coupon you also got the $3 Nivea men’s body wash coupon and if you were lucky you might have got the $1 Nivea lip coupon or $1 Nivea lotion. Yes, unfortunately it was a regional coupon set. The Portsmouth, NH paper I buy had the body wash but not the others. The Boston Globe had them all. It also had the Purina pet food coupons. But on to the FREE body wash.

This week (5/2-5/8) Rite Aid has the women’s body wash advertised for 3.99. Better yet there is a $5/20 from the Video Values you can use. Buy 4 body washes, toss in something a hair over $5 and pay less than a buck. Great way to get those Single Check Rebates done. Also a great way to buy a Mother’s Day gift (its Sunday), diapers, baby food, or anything else not normally on sale.

Walgreens is having a Nivea sale as well. 25% off and Register Rewards when you buy a certain amount. I haven’t checked the price of the women’s or men’s wash on sale but it should work out to a money maker or even break after coupons and Register Rewards.

Target and Walmart both have the women’s body wash for less than $4. You might even get the penny or two extra towards the rest of your purchase.

All this sounds great right? But beware most places are out of stock. Completely. I only found four bottles of body wash last night between 6 stores. And then only because they were behind some Dove body wash. So get rainchecks from Rite Aid. Ask when deliveries are and plan to get there when they are restocking to help your chances of getting what you want. Just remember that if you take everything they get in (if they are silly enough to let you) the customer behind you will be in your shoes just the day before. Share the deal and leave a couple behind….

And don’t buy some from Ebay unless you are desperate. The prices are so jacked up its criminal.

Lunchables Coupon at Gas Stations

By mainely  //  Tearpads  //  No Comments

There is a coveted Lunchables .75/1 tearpad at select gas stations. I found mine at a local Irving station.

Why is this important?

Well for one thing they are on sale for .99 at Shaws this week. Shelf price is over $2 so you might be able to double them for overage. At bare minimum you can get them free.

At a second glance they are a dollar at Target. So .25 each there. Not a bad deal, especially if you have kiddos that eat them daily.

So forgo paying at the pump or head inside to check out the cooler cases and see if you can dig up this gold mine.

$1 J&J First Aid Blinkie

By mainely  //  Blinkies, Coupons to Watch For  //  No Comments

While leisurely strolling through the local Shaws Thursday evening (while trying to dry out enough to stop squishing in my sneakers) I went down the OTC med aisle. There in front of the bandaids was a blinkie machine with $1 off any J&J First Aid item (signified by the red cross). There have been several reincarnations of this coupon both in the Sunday inserts and blinkie machines. So long as the denomination works out to at least $1 off one it nets free stuff, overage, etc.

My favorite is the mini first aid kits. They come in a little white plastic box and have a couple items. Not much but a nice thing to toss in a backpack, purse or glovebox. They retail for under a dollar at Walmart and Target. So free first aid kit.

They will also gain you cheap or free gauze, first aid tape in several types and assorted other items depending on where you use them and the sales.

In the past people have used these on non red cross/first aid products. Some people were told this was ok, but the indication is clear from the variety of items pictured that baby wash is not the intended item for discount. There are plenty of coupons for those items without being greedy and pushing the envelope.

So head out and look for these. They don’t expire til 5/31/2010 s you’ve got plenty of time to use them.

Cheap Emerald Nuts at Target

By mainely  //  Target  //  No Comments

I was browsing at Target last night for a snack and saw Emerald Nuts on sale for 2.99, regular price 4.59. Yellow tag for temp price reduction (I think thats what it means). They had the regular peelies for $1 on any 9oz or bigger Emerald nuts canister.

BUT they also had a $1 on any Emerald nuts canister 9oz or bigger Target coupon.

For those of you with slow math skills (or mommy brain)
2.99-$1-$1=.99 each.

Varieties include:
dry roasted peanuts
dry roasted almonds
cocoa roast almonds in dark chocolate
mixed nuts

Yummo. With 11 servings per container thats less than ten cents per serving for some very good nuts. Containers have screw caps with shrink wrap plus a foil seal inside.

Frugal Friday Apple Crisp

By mainely  //  Frugal Friday  //  No Comments

After a rather disappointing day I decided to make myself (and my husband when he gets home from work) a nice dish of apple crisp. Having all the ingredients on hand is priceless in itself, but its the cost of these items that truly highlights the delight with which I will enjoy it when its done.

(1) carton of Breyers vanilla ice cream (made $1 buying after coupon and CAT)

(3) medium Granny Smith apples (free with produce WTs)

(1) cup of brown sugar (.50 for bag after coupon)

(1) cup Quaker old-fashioned oats (.30 for whole canister after coupon)

(1/2) cup of flour (.60 for bag after coupon and CAT)

(1) stick butter (.25 per stick after coupon)

(1) assortment of spices (varying prices but cheap after coupons)

Our baking dish was bought on clearance at Target for 1.49. Its non-stick Nami green apple ware. Its amazing even at full price. And of course afterward I will use my free dishsoap to clean out the pan and other dishes.
